2016 is life changing for me. I’m so excited. It’s also the first year in a long time where I’m looking at the future and saying ‘I don’t know what’s going to happen.’
Usually I set my goals like write 4 books and I accomplish the goal. It’s something tangible that no matter what I work towards. While this is still a goal, so is publishing at least 3 perhaps 4. This means get better at editing some other books too.
However this year is something else in the air. Something amazing. 2016 is going to be great and I can’t see my future. Perhaps it’s moving, having a child, I don’t know something. Perhaps it’s climbing a mountain to have a picnic. I don’t know. The future like the picture above for me is unseen at the moment.
Normally I can figure out what’s going to happen and plan ahead. I’ve always been highly intuitive. This year though it’s more opaque. As a result this means I simply have to put my faith that’s going to be amazing.
From there everything else will fall into place.
I hope 2016 brings great fortunes for everyone reading this.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do you stay motivated when you can’t predict what the future holds?
When the future feels opaque and unpredictable, putting faith in positive outcomes can be a powerful motivator. Rather than relying solely on detailed plans, accepting uncertainty while maintaining optimism allows you to move forward. Setting tangible goals — like writing or publishing books — provides structure, while trusting that everything else will fall into place keeps momentum alive.
What does it mean to set goals when you don’t know what’s going to happen in the new year?
Setting goals without certainty about the future means focusing on controllable, tangible targets — such as writing or publishing a set number of books — while staying open to unexpected life changes like moving or major personal milestones. This balanced approach combines structured ambition with flexibility, allowing progress even when the bigger picture remains unclear.
Is it better to have a detailed life plan or to embrace uncertainty going into a new year?
Both approaches have value. A detailed plan provides direction and measurable goals, but embracing uncertainty can be equally powerful. When you can’t foresee what’s coming, leaning into optimism and faith that things will work out — rather than forcing rigid predictions — can open the door to unexpected, potentially life-changing opportunities you might otherwise overlook.
