Victoria grew up in Irish Catholic Boston before the Miami sun got hold of her and never let go. She has a background that most people do not expect from a romance novelist: she passed engineering exams, survived law school, passed the bar, practiced law briefly (and hated every minute of it), and then became a high school teacher.

Through all of it — the engineering tests, the courtrooms, the classrooms — she was always writing. Stories to calm down. Characters who lived rent-free in her head for years before they made it onto a page. Writing was the one constant thread through every career she tried.
