I am so excited this book releases today! I wrote this last November for Nanowrimo and honestly I hated it. Something felt wrong with the book so I left it alone for a long time. When I decided it was time to fix, suddenly I knew how to fix. (Mitch’s mother, Fiona, was dead in the original which left this feeling of sadness. So when I brought her back to life, Mitch had less reason to be sad. Righteous anger, yes, but sad… gone.) Once I realized how that one dynamic changed the story, I was in love with the book again. I always liked Tess so she wasn’t the issue. She was strong but nice. And now Mitch’s brother Damien is tearing up my keyboard so it’s fun that now is when older brother Mitch Morgan gets his story released.
I hope you enjoy this!!! I know I love this story! (Then again, I’m the author so I’m probably biased.)

Secret Heir:
Tess Taylor already lost everything once. The last thing she needs is another failure. Long days of scooping ice cream for a living are long behind her. If she can prove successful in Mergers and Acquisitions, she’ll never have to worry about money again. But no amount of hard work has prepared her for Mitch Morgan. He’s the kind of distraction she doesn’t need and the banker she’s supposed to destroy.
Mitch Morgan III may bear his father’s good looks and his name, but he certainly didn’t inherit his father’s trust. Born the child of a torrid affair, nothing was handed to him and no one wants him to succeed. When the rep from Morgan Enterprises storms through his door, he knows he’s in for a challenge, but nothing in life prepared him for how hard he falls for Tess.
They were supposed to be bitter enemies. Love wasn’t part of the deal. Now, they’re forced to make a decision neither could have imagined.
Will Tess choose job security over love? Is Mitch willing to abandon his vendetta in favor of love everlasting?
Frequently Asked Questions
How did the author fix Secret Heir after feeling like something was wrong with it?
The author originally wrote Secret Heir with Mitch’s mother, Fiona, already dead, which gave the story an unshakeable sadness. The fix was bringing Fiona back to life. This single change shifted Mitch’s emotional arc from grief to righteous anger, fundamentally altering the story’s tone and making the author fall back in love with the book.
What is Secret Heir about?
Secret Heir is a romance about Tess Taylor, a driven Mergers and Acquisitions rep, and Mitch Morgan III, a banker born from an affair who has never been fully accepted by his father’s world. Sent to destroy each other professionally, they unexpectedly fall in love and must choose between career ambitions and their relationship.
Is Mitch or Tess the more sympathetic character in Secret Heir?
Both characters carry significant emotional weight, but in different ways. Tess is described as strong yet kind, making her immediately likable. Mitch is driven by righteous anger rather than sadness, having been born of an affair and denied his father’s trust. Neither character was handed anything, which gives both relatable, underdog motivations throughout the story.
