So for my last week of initial covers as November is coming and I wanted to do 4 rounds of initial, these are the last group. There is an extra one because honestly one I didn’t like in the set.

Please vote for your favorite! Next week I’ll post the finalists for one final vote.

One of these is out of my norm I know BUT I was curious how I could redo the story so I included it. Ideas hit like that all the time, but usually it’s better to stick to what works. So I leave it up to you.

Soon I’ll start writing one of these on my blog just to see, but for now… what do you think? What should I be writing on the side and for the blog?

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the initial cover voting process work for this blog?

The initial cover voting runs over four rounds throughout November. Each round presents a group of cover options for readers to vote on via a linked Google Form. After all initial voting rounds are complete, the top choices move forward to a final round. The finalist vote then determines which cover concept wins overall.

What is the purpose of including an out-of-the-norm cover option in the vote?

One cover option included in the vote falls outside the author’s usual style because a fresh story idea struck and they wanted to explore how the concept could be reimagined. Rather than dismiss the idea, the author left the decision to readers. The author acknowledges it is usually better to stick with what works, but creative ideas don’t always follow that rule.

Should a writer pursue an unconventional story idea or stick with what already works?

According to the blog, while creative ideas can hit unexpectedly and feel compelling, it is generally better to stick with what works. The author included an unconventional cover option out of curiosity but openly defers to reader feedback rather than chasing the idea alone. Putting the decision to an audience vote is one practical way to test whether an outside-the-norm concept has real appeal.
