Welcome to the first Annual Smile Somebody Loves You New Years Eve Blog Hop.
What are you looking forward to in 2014?
How could I not join in on this blog hop. 2014 is going to be an amazing year. I have three books contracted to come out, my wedding in June, a new life to start, and I have no idea where I’ll be in July. So the mystery unfolds as 2014 brings to me lots of changes. I might stay right where I am in Miami. But then I could be anywhere, from Minnesota to California to Texas or New York. It all depends on acceptance and where we’re supposed to be. And yes I live in Miami and I adore the heat. It’s 80 degrees here while the rest of the country is in a deep freeze. My sister in Boston mentioned a potential blizzard. But I grew up in Boston, so wherever this journey of 2014 takes me, I’m in. But first books and wedding preparations.
My first published book from a publisher, Soul Mate Publishing, hit amazon a week early. I’m so excited about this too.
Come January 3rd to February 11th, I planned a special blog series. For my own blog, I’ll be hosting a simple rafflecopter giveaway for one Kindle edition of the Zoastra Affair.

Blurb:
A hundred years from now, Earth has trading partners with alien beings, mostly humanoid. However, going into space brought forth an unknown enemy who attacks Earth at will.
The Zoastra is part of the Earthseekers, an organization originally designed to go into space. Its new mission is to find Earth’s enemies.
Ariel is stuck on a Victorian planet and steals Grace’s body and life to get off the planet. Grace must get her body back before Ariel bonds with Grace’s husband, Peter. Then there is Cross, the man on a mission to find those who killed his family. Ariel is attracted to Cross, but she’s stolen someone’s life.
Short Excerpt:
I’m going to have to steal someone else’s body to get out of here.
“Ariel, are you listening?”
Ariel Transcender stared dumbfounded at the mother superior of her prison, a/k/a Aulnale School for Orphans. “Yes, mistress.”
She had no idea what happened, though she pasted a fake simpering smile of appreciation on her face. Ms. Rochelle walked away.
A few minutes later, Ariel looked out the window again, tuning out Rochelle’s mind numbing lecture on what was proper behavior when near a man. The boarding home on this planet gave the stupidest lectures of the galaxy. Her lips curled into a sneer. Women were not excited to be bound to men.
Could I do this to someone else? Do I have any other choice?
Lenchena, the teenage girl who’d stolen her adult body and taken off on Ariel’s ship, needed to be found. And Ariel refused to listen to the daily drivel about always listening to a man.

I do NOT do the New Years Eve party scene. Instead, my hubby and I go the the beach (which is about 25 minutes from us). This morning we went out to breakfast at one of our favorite beach spots and then we walked on the beach for almost 2 hours–picking up shells, watching dolphins, and being thankful for the infinite wonder of the sea. It was cold (we’re here in NC) and there weren’t too many people on the beach…but it gave me that same feeling of hope and peace that I get after every visit. We do this every New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day. It’s our tradition.
Awesome tradition! I love that idea and sounds beautiful!
Thank you for joining us in the hop! We’re sitting at home enjoying a nice quiet night.

Our New Year’s Eve has always been spent together with a pot of black eyed peas and the Twilight Zone marathon. I’m also in the sunshine state! You had a great year. Here’s to meeting our writing, publishing, and promotional goals! 2014 blessings to you and yours.
Happy New Year and congrats on your first book! We stayed in last night and I loved it 🙂
Oooh, nice book trailer! Love watching those things. Good luck on the contest and Happy New Year! 🙂
I have so much fun making trailers. So thank you!
I enjoyed the trailer and blurb. We have finger foods and toast in the New Year together every year. It started with my parents and I continue it to this day. Thanks for the hop and giveaway.
