So it’s Tuesday, the day before Veteran’s Day. At work: I must prepare for Thursday morning so I don’t forget everything like the student’s quiz and make sure grading is done. I know boring stuff, but I’m excited anyhow. Tomorrow there is no work. It means I can edit Mything The Throne all day long. I can wear my pajamas all day and not put on makeup. It’s going to be glorious. In the meantime, I’m so excited that Stormy Peril is holding strong on Kindle Scout. Fingers crossed, I get picked. Round two is hard to think about. It’s like ‘can I repeat myself?’ Luckily I have a million projects going on all at once, plus I have a family get together this weekend where I will actually see my brother and one sister. I haven’t seen them in months. We’ll be boring, play a board game at my parents and it’s going to be great to see everyone. So this is a great week nonetheless and remember I need the help. Frequently Asked Questions
How does Kindle Scout work for authors trying to get their book published?
Kindle Scout is an Amazon program where authors submit their books for public nomination. Readers vote for books they want to see published, and Amazon uses that data to decide which titles to select. Authors campaign for votes over a set period, hoping strong community support improves their chances of being chosen for an Amazon publishing deal.
What is Stormy Peril and where can readers vote for it?
Stormy Peril is a book submitted to Kindle Scout by author Vic, seeking reader nominations for an Amazon publishing deal. Readers could vote for it at the Kindle Scout campaign page: https://kindlescout.amazon.com/p/19MWTS7CDJODQ. The author noted the book was holding strong during its campaign and encouraged supporters to cast their votes.
Is it better to edit a manuscript in one long dedicated session or spread it across multiple shorter sessions?
According to the author’s experience, dedicating a full uninterrupted day to editing — such as a holiday at home in pajamas — feels productive and exciting compared to squeezing editing around work obligations. A long, focused session allows deeper immersion in the manuscript, like working on ‘Mything The Throne,’ without the mental switching costs of a busy workday.
