OCTOBER

Let’s get going! Secrets are about to explode.

Oct 13, 2016 Part 2

Weight: 117 pounds still

Ate: toast, with cheese, walnuts, grapes, orange juice and 2 cafe cubano.

Drank: nothing… I’m a good girl and it’s early

Sex: Not yet, but tonight is open.

Pilar refused to let me leave the table without eating a full breakfast. She knows my weakness is toast or fresh breads. Carbs might be my enemy but they’re so delicious. My breakfast though helped me focus and my mind hadn’t been this clear in a while.

For now, I headed back up to Peter’s bedroom, brushed the smell of coffee off my breathe and changed.

As I reapplied my makeup, Peter stuck his head in his fancy bedroom where the sheets were still rumpled from last night. He didn’t seem to care as he just stared at me and asked, “Are you ready?”

The funeral. This was televised. I applied one more layer of lipstick and adjusted the necklace that Mitch Morgan had given her for the first Emmy show she’d been nominated for.

Peter’s father hadn’t been all bad. Not to me anyhow. I nodded my head yes but I held out a fingers as I said, “One more minute.”

I quickly blotched the lipstick and ensured my teeth sparkled white. Then I flounced over to meet Peter. He rubbed my back as he said, “You look good. Will you be coming home with me tonight? I’ll be having a house party.

Normally he never wanted me more than once a week. This was good. Goosebumps grew on my arms as I said, “I’m always there for you.”

The moment his fingers pressed against my skin, my heart expanded. Peter Morgan was perfect. I swallowed and waited for him as he said, “Good because when Vicki shows up at this funeral, John is going to be upset.”

Right. Be useful. He’d not want someone who wasn’t useful. And it was better to trade a movie career for billions. Drat that was my mother’s words that just embedded in my psyche. I shook that thought off and nodded. “He spent the evening with Alice Collins.”

“I hadn’t noticed.” He said as he led me to the front door.

Really? He’d been busy and they’d shaken countless hands. Jennifer remembered spending hours of her school years with both Vicki and Alice as they had their hair done or walked the shopping mall.

After Vicki died though, Jennifer stopped talking to her. Alice had decided to return to her family farm, last she checked. Time had drifted them in different directions. I checked my phone and walked with him toward the limo as I said, “She used to be Vicki’s friend.”

Peter led me outside. The palm trees shaded the black limo but he closed the door behind them as he snapped his other hand and said, “No. I remember her. I think we had a contract with her company. I’ll text my secretary.”

Good. Peter had been a few years older than them, but all three of them had been to his house growing up, countless times. Well perhaps she spent more time in the House of Morgan than Alice ever did.

Either way this funeral was going to be action packed and I shouldn’t waste too much time thinking about Alice.

They were better off alone.

I slipped into the backseat of the limo and waited. All that mattered was that Peter and I were together.
